About the Book:

The Wild Card series published by Half BakedBeans is a series which focuses on the passion for playing tennis. The first part of the series was the story of Karan Mehrotra who returns to professionally playing tennis after a gap of eight years and paves his journey towards success by winning the Wimbledon Championship. You can check out the review of the first part of the series on my instagram by clicking the link here. The second book of the series, Wild Card 2 takes up from the place where the first book ended. Karan Mehrotra won at Wimbledon and made his paraplegic daughter Roshini proud. The story moves further where Karan helps his hitting partner Tahira who is a young girl who helped Karan in his journey to Wimbledon in achieving her own dream of becoming a professional tennis player. Karan becomes Tahira’s coach and does all he can to make Tahira live her childhood dream. The story moves forward and doesn’t fail in proving the fact that hard work always pays satisfying results.

Review:

Wild Card Series is definitely a highly inspiring series published by Half Baked Beans. It teaches you to work towards your dreams and never to lose hope. Wild Card 2 is a book which highly motivated me on a personal level. It’s a story about dreams, hard work, love and friendship and it has done justice in reaching the depths of all these aspects. The story is very simple yet it is amazing and the way in which it has been written by the author makes it more wonderful. The vocabulary and the language used is just perfect and doesn’t complicate the story.  The way the characters have been developed from the first part of the series to its second part is also commendable. The story proves the fact that winning always isn’t important, a person may lose sometimes and that is okay because every experience teaches a person to move forward in life and also that we should learn something from every experience in our life rather than sulking on our defeats. A lot can be learnt from Karan Mehrotra’s life which makes this series an amazing and inspiring read.

To Read or Not to Read:

The Wild Card Series should definitely be read by everyone in order to get a boost of hope and inspiration. It’s a short series which is very calming so trust me n don’t miss out on this one. Also, if you are someone who is into playing tennis, this series is a treat for you!
