Book Review: Mum & Princess Go Spying by Payel Bhattacharya

About the Author:  Payel Bhattacharya is an Indian author who is currently located in Delhi. She has put forward her sufferings and hardships being a patient of von-hippel Lindau disease through various poems and sketches and also through her first long poem named ‘The Warrior Princess’. Due to her mental health she took it as a challenge to write detective fiction and the book- Mum & Princess Go Spying is a result of that challenge. About the Book:  ‘Mum & Princess Go Spying’ is a novella which consists of three short stories about a girl named Princess and her mother who help the famous detectives in their city, Varma and Sharma to solve difficult cases and murder mysteries in their locality. Princess’s brother is also a police inspector who is introduced in the third story and helps in solving the final case.                                         About Books N Beyond Box: Books n Beyond box is an online website which offers book boxes every month based on a particular theme. The boxes contain books and merchandise inspired from the particular month’s theme. Books n Beyond box also offers special Fandom boxes mostly based on the theme of the Wizarding World. They started their online book box service in January, 2017 with a Harry Potter themed box and since then they have been famous for their beautiful and magical merchandise. The bookings of a particular box are open for over a month after which it takes a month for the box to deliver. The themes of the boxes are revealed before the bookings start and also a few products and books are also revealed on the website or on their beautiful instagram feed. The Best and Worst Books of 2018

2018 was a very satisfying year for me as far as reading is concerned. I was able to read a total of twenty nine books which I feel is quite an achievement for me. My reading journey throughout the year has been beautiful which finally led me to start reviewing books on Instagram and then finally being able to start my book blog in July, 2018. It’s been a wonderful year for me and I completely owe it to reading. I read a good number of books in 2018, some were those which I’ve been looking forward to since a long time, some were gifted, some were review copies and some were out of my comfort zone and were completely new for me. 2018 has been a roller coaster ride for me and I feel that I’ve read many types of books this year.
