Book Review: Eleventh Hour by S. Hussain Zaidi

About the Author:

S. Hussain Zaidi is an Indian author and a former investigative journalist. He has authored several bestsellers like Black Friday, Dongri to Dubai, Mafia Queens of Mumbai, etc. some of which have also been adopted into Bollywood movies like Black Friday, Shootout at Wadala, Phantom, etc.

About the Book:

Eleventh Hour by S. Hussain Zaidi is a crime thriller novel which revolves around the events post 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. It’s a story about another bomb blast being planned in Mumbai by five terrorists who break out from the Bhopal Central Jail along with another group of terrorists headed by a terrorist named ‘Munafiq’. It is the story of the Superintendent of Police, Vikrant Singh who is still waiting for his wounds to heal after the 26/11 attacks and therefore makes it a point to stop the terrorists and to save Mumbai from another horrible attack. The story takes an interesting turn when a ship is high jacked in the Arabian Sea by a group of terrorists who demand Lakshwadeep as a separate state for themselves from the government and also make Vikrant Singh their hostage. The story has a lot of twists and turns and a number of characters which make the story perfect to be adopted as a movie. It’s all about the horrifying effects of terrorism and also about the feeling of patriotism and dedication which leads officers like Vikrant Singh to protect the country from such terrors.

Review:

Eleventh Hour is definitely one of the most interesting books I’ve ever read. The story is full of ups and downs and a lot of twists which make it even more interesting. The writing is perfect and the way the scenes and the characters have been described is also amazing. The story is written in such a way that it actually brings out the horrors of terrorism and makes the reader realise that how grievous the situation is. Reading this book was like watching a movie which justifies S. Hussain Zaidi’s previous novels which resulted in being adopted into some famous movies. The amount of rush and the excitement which the story builds up is something which keeps the reader interested in the story till the end. It’s a story which has a perfect and a happy ending but then too it totally justifies the fact that the repercussions of terrorism are highly dangerous. It’s a book which will be enjoyed by everyone as it will make you feel patriotic and lucky at the same time. It’s a wonderful piece of writing and should definitely be read by everyone.

To Read or Not to Read:

As I mentioned above, Eleventh Hour is a book which will not disappoint you because it’s highly interesting. It’s a book which should be read by everyone and if you are someone who is into reading patriotic stuff then you cannot miss out on this book. It’s interesting and is beautifully written which makes this book a perfect read.
