The Big Book Box- Espresso Box Review

About The Big Book Box:

The Big Book Box is a website which offers a fun reading experience for all the readers out there in India. It offers a book subscription box in which a reader receives some books and other products which are definitely a treat for people who are into reading. They provide a theme for every month and the box of each month is designed around that theme. The Big Book Box provides for different kind of boxes, namely The Frappe Box, The Espresso Box, The Cappuccino Box and The Café Mocha Box which differ in terms of how many books and items you’ll receive in a box and also in terms of the price of the box. The booking of The Big Book Box is generally available for one and a half months after the theme of a particular month is revealed. You receive the box after a month or two after ordering since they start putting together the boxes of a particular month only after all the orders are received. The books and some of the items which will be available in a month’s box are generally revealed beforehand so that it helps in deciding that whether you want to book that month’s box or not. All the products inside the box are custom made and are products which will definitely be loved by all book lovers.

What all I Received:

So I ordered the July Espresso Box from The Big Book Box with the theme ‘Happily Ever After’. I ordered my box on 10th June, 2018 and I finally received it on 10th September, 2018. It was the first time I ordered a book subscription box from The Big Book Box and I was highly excited to try it out. As I was ordering for the first time from The Big Book Box, I got a discount and I received my Espresso Box for Rs. 1328 which was originally priced at Rs. 1500. I received a bunch of things inside the box along with two books.

  • A Postcard:

So the first thing which I received in the box was this beautiful postcard with the theme of the month printed on it. On the back side of it, it contained a beautiful message from The Big Book Box along with a list of things which I received inside the box. It is a really nice postcard with the most wonderful message and I definitely loved it.

  • A Tote Bag:

This is my favourite thing from the box and I’ve already started using it. It’s a beautiful tote bag with the message ‘Read More Books’ printed on both sides. It’s a mini tote with the softest material. It’s a perfect bag to carry when you need only some important things to take with you. I’ve started using it for college every day and I just love this bag. The only thing that I did not like about the bag was that it does not contain a chain or a zip to close it but it’s so pretty that I am sure I’ll definitely use it wherever I can.

  • A Book Review Pad:

It’s something which I’ve never had before and I am so happy to finally receive it. It’s a book review pad with a huge number of sheets which are detachable. The way I’ll be using it is by writing in it whatever I feel just after finishing a particular book and keeping that particular sheet inside the book so that I can refer to it in the future whenever I want to remember the things I loved about a particular book. I think it’s a great thing for readers and I personally love it. I’ll definitely be using it now as soon as I finish a book. The print on the pages is also very beautiful which gives all the bookish feels to the reader and make it a great and wonderful product.

  • The Little Mermaid Candle:

So this is the prettiest candle I’ve ever seen. It is custom made and is inspired from the books which the July boxes contain. It’s blue in colour and is decorated with shells and sparkle on it and it has a beautiful vanilla smell. I’ve already used it once and I can say that it gives out a beautiful light and a wonderful smell. I’m very fond of candles and so I loved this product. The way the candle has been made so beautiful in accordance with the theme is great and I’m sure that it’ll last a really long time.

  • The Illypad Gentle Salt Scrub and Soak:

So this is another product which is inspired by the the month’s theme ‘Happily Ever After’. It is a 200gm bottle of bath salt and scrub. I haven’t tried it out yet but I can say that it smells so so wonderful. I just fell in love with the smell of roses which it contains and I cannot wait to use this product. I loved the concept of it and also that how beautifully it is packed and how beautiful it appears to be.

  • 5 Harry Potter Bookmarks:

As you all know, I am crazy about Harry Potter and so I just loved these beautiful bookmarks. They are wonderfully made and are of perfect size. The paper used is also thick which is the best thing about a bookmark. All the bookmarks contain Harry Potter quotes written on them on one side and on the other side contain the pictures of all the famous Harry Potter characters. I just love how beautifully the characters have been made on the bookmarks. I’ve already started using them and I’ll try my best not to lose them as I usually lose the other bookmarks I use but I'll definitely be using these with extra care because these are Harry Potter bookmarks which make them really special for me.

  • The Pen Pal Kit:

So it is a thing which is started by The Big Book Box through which they help you find a pen pal and share your views on a particular topic or on a particular book. For this purpose, this lettering kit has been provided which contains three sets of envelopes and letter sheets. I think it is a great initiative as it’ll help readers to connect through The Big Book Box. I love the design of the letter sheets and also the envelopes. I think they are beautifully made. I don’t think I’ll get a pen pal but I am pretty sure that I will use these envelopes and sheets in some way as I find them to be so attractive.

  • Two Books:

So I received two books based on the theme of the month ‘Happily Ever After’:
  1. The Surface Breaks by Louise O’Neill: It is a hardcover book which is so beautiful. I just love the fact that how beautiful this book is. It is a retelling of the fairy tale- The Little Mermaid and has been written by Louise O’Neill who is an Irish writer. The book has been published in 2018 only and I am so excited to read it. I love books which retell some famous stories from a different point of view and so I have a lot of expectations from it and it’ll definitely be my next read.
  2. All The Ever Afters by Danielle Teller: It is a paperback which again contains a beautiful cover. It is based on the famous and my favourite fairy tale- Cinderella and tells the unspoken story of her evil stepmother. I am so excited to read this book. I think it’ll be great as I find the concept to be very interesting. It beautifully suits the theme of the month and I’ll be definitely  reading it as soon as possible.

Review:

The Big Book Box is a wonderful book subscription box which is something really great for people who love reading. I just loved it. The only minus point is the time taking process which makes you wait a lot for it. But I think the wait is worth it since the box is so amazing. I just loved my Espresso Box. I loved each and every item which it contained and I’ll definitely be ordering more boxes from them in the future. According to me, all the reading enthusiasts should check them out and order a box for themselves. Trust me, it won’t disappoint you. It is worth the money you pay for it and for me, receiving this box has been a great experience. Do order from them and do check out their website by clicking the link here. Also, follow them on instagram (tbb_box). They have the most beautiful feed and they do reveal all the necessary information related to the boxes on their feed. They provide a description of all the kinds of boxes they have so that you can choose which box suits you the best and which you can order. I think it’s a great box and should be tried out by everyone. Trust me you won't be disappointed and you'll definitely love it!

Thank you for reading :)
