About the book:

Neverfound Land is the second book in the Djinn series which released a week ago on 1st December, 2018. The first book of the series was Once Upon a Genie and you can check its review in my last blog post. Neverfound Land deals with the story in furtherance of the love story of Daisy and the genie named Khalil which was built in the first book of the series. The second part of the series deals with story of their child, Solomon who is a human and a genie hybrid. How he discovers his powers, how he tries to suppress those powers and lead a normal life, how he discovers the truth behind his powers and uses them to save his parents and unite the human and the genie clans is what the story is all about. It introduces a number of new and important characters. One of these characters is Rasmas who is portrayed as the villain in the story who is an evil genie and wants to capture the kingdom of Khalil. Another important character is Sheikh, who comes forward as a blessing in the life of Solomon and helps him in figuring out the ways to protect both the genies and the humans. The story ends in the victory of Solomon who finally saves the human race from all kinds of evil genies and makes all of his three parents feel proud of him.

Review:

I received this book as soon as it released from the publishing house Half Baked Beans and I was very excited to read it since I had just finished reading the first part of the Djinn Series. Neverfound Land was totally different from the first part of the series- Once Upon a Genie. Once Upon a Genie was a proper love story with a sad ending but Neverfound Land was a total fantasy which didn’t even focus much on the main characters of Once Upon a Genie. This book introduced a number of new characters and focused only on them. The story is interesting and is full of fantasy and has also been written in a wonderful manner. The story was very interesting in its first half and I loved the plot building. But, it became a little monotonous in its second half and I felt that it was just being dragged for the sake of it. Some characters which were present in the first part of the series, do not even appear in this part. Because of this, a few questions which were present in the minds of the readers when they read the first part remain unanswered. Therefore, I feel that Neverfound Land is a book which is nice when it is read individually but not in continuance of its first part Once Upon a Genie. If I compare the two books, I would definitely say that Once Upon a Genie was much better but when I look at Neverfound Land as an individual book, then I can say for sure that it is a good book. It has been written in a way which will keep the reader interested in knowing that what is going to happen further in the story. The genie world has been described beautifully and one can definitely imagine the beautiful Neverfound Land while reading its description. The way the feelings of the main character Solomon have been described is also amazing. It helps the reader in connecting to the life and feelings which Solomon is witnessing. I think it’s a book which is very adventurous and it therefore makes the readers stick to it no matter what.

To Read or not to Read:

Neverfound Land is a book which should definitely be read by people who are into fantasy. Trust me the genie world will attract you. Also, people who are into reading YA fiction and love stories, don’t miss out on the Djinn series. You can buy Neverfound Land from amazon by clicking the link here. You can also buy the first part of the series- Once Upon a Genie by clicking the link here.
